New England Village Tour
A short ride will take you to Woodstock, Vermont, an historic
and vibrant Vermont village. Enjoy a tour of Billings Farm and
Museum, a Rockefeller property featuring a working dairy farm,
as well as a museum of farm life that covers the past two centuries.
Take some time to browse the quaint village and shops. Woodstock's
Main Street offers a feast of interesting shopping, from antiques
and an old-fashioned general store to clothing and gifts, and
the architecture is charmingly quintessential New England. Enjoy
lunch in Woodstock or continue on to Quechee. Both villages
offer a variety of luncheon options, whether you are in the
mood for fine dining or a picnic.
After lunch explore the Quechee Gorge, Vermont's "Little Grand
Canyon." The gorge is easily viewed from the bridge on Route
4, or get up close and personal on the hiking trails that lead
to the base of the gorge and along the Ottauquechee River. Enjoy
the shops adjacent to the gorge featuring Mesa International,
Ottauquechee Winery, and the Vermont Store.
Next, travel across the Connecticut River to Hanover, New
Hampshire, for a tour of Dartmouth College and a real college
town. It is a pleasure strolling through this Ivy League Campus,
and Hanover's Main Street is packed with shops and restaurants.
