Music Matters Concert Series with The New Mosaic and Gentleman Brawlers

Sat 05/13 6PM
  • The Music Matters Concert Series is a fundraiser for the music curriculum at Waits River Valley School, a PreK-8 school serving roughly 275 children from Corinth and Topsham, Vt.
  • Admission to all shows is by donation.
  • Food and drinks available for purchase.
  • All proceeds from the Music Matters Concert Series will contribute to the acquisition of quality instruments and equipment for Waits River Valley School’s new Live Band curriculum.
  • The New Mosaic is a Connecticut based neo-soul band, playing authentic r&b tunes, funky vibes, and jazzy solos.
  • The Gentleman Brawlers a Brooklyn, New York City based Afrobeat influenced indie dance band.
  • Here is the wish list:
    • 2 electric guitars
    • 1 electric bass guitar
    • 1 weighted keyboard
    • 1 drum kit
    • 3 vocal microphones
    • 3 guitar amps, cables, stands, and cases
    • 3 microphone cables and stands
    • 1 PA system (mixer, speakers and stands)
  • Students at Waits River Valley School LOVE music. The school currently possesses a good collection of introductory instruments for young students such as rhythm sticks, egg shakers and ukuleles, but it lacks sufficient funds for quality Live Band equipment.
  • Music Matters is a grassroots movement to make music education accessible to everyone, especially young people. While this fundraiser focuses on aiding one school’s music program, the long-term goal of the Music Matters Movement is to help get instruments to any school that needs them and to provide mobile music classrooms to schools that either have no music program or lack access to quality musical equipment.
  • Sponsored by Farm-Way, Copeland Furniture, JM Landscaping, 1791 Star Hemp, East Coast Van Builds and Valley Floors, the Music Matters Concert Series features an eclectic lineup of premiere touring performers, bringing world class musicianship and entertainment to intimate venues in the Upper Valley.
