Description

The Golf Course Maintenance crew works with the Superintendent to ensure the presentability of the 18-Hole Championship Golf Course and Resort grounds. Performs all work in accordance with essential functions and responsibilities as described below;

Responsibilities:       

·        Manages water coolers, ball washers, trash, tee markers, signage and other guest golf course amenities.

·        Clears leaves, branches, pine needles, trees and any other obstructions from the course and resort grounds.

·        Maintains and cuts grass on tee boxes, fairways, roughs, fringes, greens and resort grounds.

·        Assists with sodding, trimming and irrigation maintenance, repairs and function.

·        Uses equipment such as walking and riding greens mowers, tee mowers, fairway mowers, rough mowers, rollers, bunker rakes, carts, push mowers, weed-wackers, chainsaws and a variety of powered and non-powered hand tools.

·        Observes all safety practices and protocols, using proper Personal Protective Equipment and products, tools and machines as instructed.

·        Participates in required training and meetings.

·        Assists Pro Shop with course amenities and set up.

·        Performs other required tasks and duties as required.

Requirements:

·        This position requires early morning and frequent weekend work.

·        Ability to understand and receive instruction in English and work cooperatively with others in a team environment.

Experience/Education:

·        Previous Golf Course Maintenance, Landscaping and/or Machine Operation experience preferred.

Work Environment;

·        Work tasks are performed mainly outdoors and involve physical strength and endurance. Must be able to work in varying temperatures and inclement weather.

Physical Demands:

·        Works with heavy equipment such as mowers, rollers, cutters and golf carts.

·        Position requires walking and standing for periods of time.  Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task.

·        Must be able to exert well-paced ability to maneuverer between functions occurring simultaneously.

·        Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.

·        Medium Work: Must be able to exert and lift 20-50 lbs of force occasionally and 10-25lbs of force frequently and up to 10 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis to move objects.

·        Heavy Work: Must be able to exert and lift 100 lbs of force occasionally and in excess of 50 lbs of force frequently and in excess of 20 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis to move objects.

·        Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch frequently.

·        Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near and color vision and depth perception.

·        Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
